Sweet treats made a meaningful difference last month as Tohickon Middle School’s Women’s Group raised 500 dollars for A Women’s Place, a local organization dedicated to supporting victims of domestic violence. Students and teachers all came together to support the cause by buying homemade goods made by members of the group. The sale was every week in the school hallway. Each week after the bell rung, students would line up to purchase a cupcake, cookie, or other sweet treat. Earlier last week, group representatives visited A Women’s Place and proudly presented the 500$ check to a staff member. The donation will help support A Women’s Place mission to reduce domestic violence. The Tohickon Women’s group meets regularly to discuss social issues and promote leadership among young women. The group plans to continue efforts with more service projects in the coming year. This bake sale was just the beginning.
